Why does SkyCover only offer a wireless system?

SkyCover systems are completely wireless for convenience and flexibility. Because our system is wireless, it’s incredibly easy to setup (or move) and doesn’t require an installer to come into your home to drill and run wires. With a wireless system, even if you lose power to your home, you’ll still be protected.

 

Can I expand my system after I purchase?

We’ve constructed our packages to address the needs of most customers. But at some point, you may decide to add additional functionality to your base system – or realize that you need an additional sensor. Regardless, you absolutely can add new sensors and controls. And because you can setup your system yourself and it’s completely wireless, you can add a new sensor or control quickly and easily!

What happens if my system is damaged by an intruder?
All of our systems feature SmashProof technology. If an intruder tries to disable your security system by breaking the control panel, a distress signal will still be sent.

I have pets, can I still use a motion sensor?

With our pet-immune motion sensors, you absolutely can include a motion sensor as a part of your system configuration. You may want to discuss your pet’s weight and activity level with a security consultant before completing your purchase to ensure you can set up the motion sensor without risk of false alarms being triggered.

Yes. All of our plans are interactive, which means you can access and control your system through a variety of interfaces – Whether using your control panel, key fob, or through our mobile phone or web application, everything you need is at your fingertips.

 

  1. How long is the system protected by warranty?
    Sky Cover utilizes GE-manufactured equipment – a proven, time-tested leader in home security. All of your equipment is covered under a standard 1-year warranty. If something stops working or isn’t working properly don’t hesitate to contact us for replacement.

  1. Do I need internet in my home for the SkyCover system to work?

Absolutely not. Our system communicates wirelessly through Z-Wave technology.

  1. How does the SkyCover System communicate with the monitoring center if it’s wireless?

All SkyCover systems utilize 100% cellular communication to send alerts to system users, the monitoring center and, if necessary, the proper authorities. The system communicates independent from your phone line, internet connection or cable service. This ensures that should your home lose power or a communication line be severed, your SkyCover system won’t be disabled.

  1. What if the cellphone coverage in my area is poor?
    The cellular module in your SkyCover control panel uses a low frequency signal to communicate with the monitoring center. We use several cellular networks to maximize coverage. We will confirm the signal strength in your area before completing your order.

 

  1. Why do all SkyCover monitoring packages include interactive services?

We believe our customers deserve the latest and best technology in their home security systems. With interactive monitoring, you can be connected to your system wherever you are through either your mobile smart phone, tablet or web browsers.

Interactive Services include:
